There are many places for local recreation in the courtyards of late Soviet housing project '4blocks on Podil' in Kyiv. One of them has been empty for a long time due to the fact that the entrance was welded with fittings and covered with resin. This is the roof of the boiler room, which was erected at the same time as other project buildings in the 1980s.

There was an exhibition-intervention here, which involved the viewer in non-verbal contact with the yard, surrounding objects and authentic roof space, which was used for the first time since the early 1990s.

The exposition consisted of archival images found on the pages of the official Soviet monthly 'Soviet Photo', in issues which were published during the years when the idea of  '4blocks' was embodied. The symbolic transfer of the visitor to the zone of encounter, combined with the visual and monumental culture of that time, made it possible to trace the changes of focus of vision, which were inherent in the creative energy of the Perestroika.

For being presented, the photos were placed on the surfaces of original wooden windows and doors that were dismantled as a result of “eurorepairs”(interior design style expanded after the crash of the USSR in the left territories) and were found near the trash cans.
